Isle of Skye

The largest of the Inner Hebrides, Skye is a landscape so dramatic it feels like another planet. Mist-shrouded peaks, crystal-clear pools, and coastlines sculpted by millennia.

An Island Like No Other

Skye is an island that defies description. Its landscapes shift from the lunar pinnacles of the Quiraing to the gentle turquoise of the Fairy Pools. The iconic Old Man of Storr stands sentinel over the Sound of Raasay, while Neist Point lighthouse marks the westernmost tip of the island, where the Atlantic meets the sky.

Myths & Legends

Skye has been inhabited for over 9,000 years, and its landscape is woven with mythology. The fairy pools are said to be enchanted by the Sidhe — the fairy folk of Celtic legend. Dunvegan Castle, seat of the Clan MacLeod for 800 years, is home to the legendary Fairy Flag, said to have magical powers.

A Walker's Paradise

From the gentle coastal walks around Dunvegan to the challenging traverse of the Cuillin Ridge, Skye offers some of the best hiking in the British Isles. The island is also a paradise for wildlife watchers — golden eagles, otters, seals, and even basking sharks can be spotted from its shores.
