Loch Lomond

Where gentle lowlands give way to rugged highlands — Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park is Scotland's most accessible slice of natural beauty.

The Bonnie Banks

Made famous by the traditional Scottish song “Loch Lomond,” this loch is the largest body of fresh water in Britain by surface area. Its northern end plunges into the Highlands, while its southern shores open onto gentle lowland farmland. The contrast is breathtaking.

The West Highland Way

Scotland's most famous long-distance trail passes through the park on its way from Milngavie to Fort William. The section along Loch Lomond's western shore — through ancient oak woodland and past hidden waterfalls — is one of the most scenic stretches.

Island Life

Loch Lomond is dotted with 30 islands, including Inchmurrin — the largest freshwater island in the British Isles. Some islands are nature reserves home to rare wildlife, while others hold the romantic ruins of medieval strongholds. Take a cruise or rent a kayak to explore them.
